About Our Facility

Maison d’Azur, which consists of stone houses in accordance with the architecture of Alaçatı, was built by Greek workers brought to the village for the work of Hacı Memiş Aga in the late 19th century, like many other Alaçatı stone houses. During its construction, local light-colored, soft stones from the Balanbaka mountain and special mortars used instead of cement were used. Buildings therefore trap heat in winter and cold in summer. The two-storey buildings with bay windows have been restored in accordance with the original.

The reason why the walls of the lower floors are thicker than the upper floors is that the lower floors were used for storage and animal housing, while the upper floors were used as living spaces.
